Trying to Save a Hive

The hive I swapped to the middle a couple months back is not doing well.  I learned they were queenless several weeks back and despite giving them frames with brood and eggs from the other two hives they have failed to make a queen on their own.  I am installing a queen for them today that I picked up at my last bee class this morning.  I am worried for this hive, not just because they have been queenless but because they have only drawn out about 4 frames of wax on their own.  I am going to need to feed them like crazy if they have any hope to survive the winter at this point in the season.  They need to build up to full deeps, drawn out with comb, and stores of at least 60 lbs of food and a good number of bees to make it through the winter. I am not holding out much hope for this hive but they could surprise me and make a complete turn around with a new queen and some sugar in their little bellies!

I am very excited for next spring already, and curious to see how it goes. All 3 of my hives are in very different states right now. One is very strong and filled out 24 deep frames and a medium super and filled it with honey. Another hive is finally working on the last ~5 frames of its second deep, and the third is the dark horse mentioned above.
